Description
Gerbera species and cultivars are perennial herbaceous plants. Rhizomes are formed as Überdauerungsorgane. In basal rosettes are together the most fiederteilig or simple leaves. The leaf margins are simple, dentate to serrate. The leaves can be hairy or hairless.

Individually on long leafless stalks are the bloom conditions. There are two available and three rows of bracts. Chaff leaves missing. The outer flowers are usually female, with staminodes, the inner are hermaphroditic or functionally male. The corolla tube ends zweizipfelig. The achenes are four to zehngerippt with a pappus.
