The Galeopsis speciosa (Galeopsis speciosa) is an annual plant belonging to the mint family (Labiatae or Lamiaceae). It is a plant of moist, rich soil along roadsides, along ditches, hedgerows, woodland edges and farmland between the winter wheat. The plant is native to Eurasia.
The plant is 0.6 to 1.5 m high. The square stem is swollen at the nodes and knots in the bristly hairs. The hairs are bent downwards at an increase. The toothed leaves are ovate to oblong or rounded and have a narrower foot.
Galeopsis speciosa blooms from June until the autumn. The corolla is 2.3 to 3.4 cm long and pale yellow flower tube is two to three times longer than the calyx. The upper lip of the flower is yellow and the lower sulfur yellow. The middle slip of the lip has a purple top with a white edge. The zijslippen to the white peaks. The anthers are purple. Inflorescence a dense ring appearance.
The fruit is a four-part split fruit.
