Zulte Flower

Zulte (Aster Tripolium, synonym: Tripolium vulgare), or also known as aster, a plant of the composite family (Asteraceae or Compositae). It is found in marshes and in areas under the influence of the tidal Standing. They grow on the tide line. Zulte is in the Netherlands in the delta area, on the islands and along the Wadden Sea. The plant also occurs in areas where salinity occurs, as some reclaimed land.

It is a 15-60 cm tall, biennial plant. The plant has 12 inch narrow, oblong, lanceolate leaves.

The flowers are rich in nectar. The fruit is a nut that two weeks to float. The seeds germinate only when the soil salinity is low enough.
